Halo Reach Beta Game Modes - May 3rd is getting close, and we continue to blow the lid off with new info about the Halo Reach Beta. IGN brings the latest news, which details the game modes that will be playable in the beta. Here's a quick summary:

Headhunter: This mode isn't headshots only as we suspected. Instead, it will play similar to oddball, but better. When you kill a player, you don't immediately get a point. Instead they drop a skull that you then have to not only collect, but bring to a desposit zone, before you'll get the points. You can carry as many skulls at a time as you want. The catch is that if you die, you drop the skulls and someone else can take them. Further, you'll have a number above your head that tells other players the number of skulls you're carrying. Sounds like a cool mix of risking staying out on the battlefield vs leaving the action for a minute to go drop off your skulls.

Stockpile: Basically a cross between Territories and Capture the Flag, in stockpile flags will appear randomly across the map and it's your job to return them to their capture points.

Generator Defense: Jetpacks and generators, is this Tribes? Not quite. Generator Defense is one of the Spartan vs. Elites game modes. The Elites attack and must destroy the generators, and the Spartans try and stop them. After the round ends, you switch sides.

Invasion: No new details on this one yet, though Spike TV will be unveiling this game mode during tonight's episode of GTTV. What we do know already is that it will be the only mode in the beta that will have vehicles, and also will be the only mode playable on Boneyard.
