SC2 Beta Patch Download

Posted by bL4cK_m0p on Saturday, May 8, 2010

This is another way to download the Patches for SC2-Beta than the Tracker. The Tracker doesn't work if you have router+external firewall+designated IP-Addresses etc. which can't be configurated in a way that this tracker works and I don't think this will change in the next few months.

This solves the issue to which most people would just say: "configure the router so that port XXXX is open dude!"

How to install Patches for SC2-Beta

  • Download the zip files below
  • Open the zip file
  • Extract its content and placed them inside the Updates folder located inside the folder you installed the game into. By default, that is...
    C:\Program Files\Starcraft II Beta\ -- Default for 32-bit OS
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Starcraft II Beta\ -- Default for 64-bit OS

If the files just vanish after you start SC2 and your game didn't get patched, you are experiencing an issue that's beyond the scope of this article. Make sure you follow these steps first:

Those are files from the clean install; you did not update the game yet. Did the patch not start for you?

  • Try checking your internet security program first.
  • If you have rules in its program list to let it through, go to Internet Explorer -> File, then make sure Work Offline isn't checked.
  • Also check Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connection -> LAN Settings and make sure your proxy information is correct.
  • If you don't use a proxy, make sure that everything is unchecked and hit OK.
  • If that doesn't work, go back there and try toggling your Automatically detect settings box, then hit OK.
  • Try the game again and see if it updates.
